Woods. Not haute cuisine but a nice Bistro style place with good atmosphere. It's been there for years.NNTP-Posting-Date: 14 Aug 2000 22:04:47 GMT X-Complaints-To: [email removed] X-Newsreader: MicroPlanet Gravity v2.30.1784 Xref: usenet.INS.CWRU.Edu uk.food+drink.restaurants:3181 says... > In article , tim harper > Someone wrote: > >Any recommendations for good restaurants in Bath please? > > Woods. I haven't eaten at Lettonie for a couple of months but my wife and I had a jolly good meal there in May. Not cheap. Perhaps surprisingly--considering the paucity of Brit representation in the Red Guide--it has two Michelin rosettes, which it probably almost deserves. Biffo PS There is (or was) also an interesting place in the centre of Bath, where I had good food (tartare of quail with coriander was memorable) a couple of years ago. Can't remember the name of the place but it was something to do with music (which should narrow it down a lot) and I seem to remember it had yellow-painted walls with a sort of cartoon-ish piano keyboard running most of the way round the room. Let me know what it's like nowadays if you find it. congokid wrote: > In article , KRW <richard. > Someone wrote: > >In article , tim harper > >Someone wrote: > >>Any recommendations for good restaurants in Bath please? > >> > >> > >The book (Good Food Guide) recommend Lettonie - no experience but > >the > >restaurant has a long history and the book is rarely wrong. > > A recent issue of Caterer & Hotelkeeper has an interesting write > up of the newly opened Collingbourne Ducis in George Street (10 > August).
