Just got back, and while we did not make it to the Pappas Bros. (next trip in June we will definitely go) we had a couple of excellent Q-linary visits:
Solley's (Belt Line in Addison)
This place rocks, as it always has. I had a brisket/sausage plate, the wife had brisket and ribs. All the meats are excellent, and their sauce is too. Their side dishes rule...I could eat the slaw and potato salad all day long.
Sonny Bryan's (original on Inwood north of Harry Hines)
Still the king in our book. As good as Solley's brisket and sauce were, Sonny's is another cut above. The chopped brisket is that much more succulent, and the sauce has that much more character. Their branches can be a bit iffy sometimes, but the Original is the real deal.
