With all due respect, that's not a very good review.

From my email, I'm led to believe that there is a better review of Tocai coming soon to citysearch, but as of yet it hasn't materialized (hi Betsy, if you're out there reading this! :)

Just FYI, R and I made a return visit to Tocai last Saturday, and it was every bit as good as the first time we went. And it was kinda neat, both the owner and the hostess and a couple of members of the waitstaff remembered us and welcomed us back. As I left, I talked to the owner, told him about the buzz on Tocai on austin.food, and at his request told him how to use DejaNews to find out what people have been saying.

As for the type of food served, I'd loosely classify it as "mediterranean". Not a 100% thing, but it's kinda close.

BTW, the goat cheese appetizer really is extraordinary.
