G'day

Me too (well third visit actually). They recognize us now.

> Another thumbs up...but with a caveat to watch where you are seated.

Thanks for that - they were going to seat us by the bar. I asked about smoking and she admitted that smoking is allowed at the bar (not at the tables by the bar) and showed us to a different table away from the bar.

Once again, the food was great. The service was good even though the place was full. We are working our way through the menu. We had the spinach (palak) chicken (again, yes, but it's our favourite), our friend had the spinach (saag) lamb, and I got the mixed vegetable jalfresi (curried veges). We ordered the mixed tandoori platter for an appetizer, but told them to just bring things out as they were cooked. It came out last, and it was great. Lamb, chicken and various vegetables all tandoorized. We haven't been able to choose between the garlic basil naan and the onion cilantro naan, so we just get some of each these days. We also ask for things like raita, mango chutney or lime pickle, which are all really good.

They are almost getting the heat right, probably because they recognize us and now believe we know what we want when we want it "extra desi" (where desi is supposedly 3x hotter than "hot"). This time we said "extra extra desi", and our dining companion to whom we were introducing the restaurant jumped on the bandwagon and asked for "as desi as your conscience will allow". I thought we got it plenty hot enough, as did our companion. Jason still said "it could have been hotter". I say of course it could, but why ? I guess marathon runners need more of a kick to get the endorphins flowing <shrug>

PS. Anyone have any connections in Moab, UT ? We've just decided to tie the knot under an arch in Arches national park.... next weekend! We tend to be fairly spontaneous sorts of people, but the organization is going to be fairly frantic. I have to track down photographer, marriage celebrant, florist in a couple of days.

8-)
