Huh. What kind of food do they like? Are they looking for local stuff they can't get anywhere else, or are they looking to compare the food they usually eat to what they can eat here? Anyhow: hardcore food you can get other places for a lot more $$ -------------------------------------------------------- Jeffrey's Zoot (a bit funkier than jeffrey's) Better places than what they've got ----------------------------------- Austin Land & Cattle Any BBQ joint Louie's 106 (tapas only, no entrees) Texas interpretations of classics --------------------------------- Threadgills That tex-mex place on South Congress Chewy's Grease, grease, grease ---------------------- GM Steakhouse (yummy) Avoid the chinese and sushi places like the plague. Overall, the food in town lacks flash (except for zoot, mostly) so be sure to set the expectations correctly.

We haven't been here long enough to compile our own : list, but the research sure is fun! : Lynn & Todd Austin Land and Cattle Company Baby Accupulcos (only if they'll drink margaritas) Kirby Lane I'd like to vote against Jeffries once too. Its over priced and uppity, and the food, while certainly good, ain't anything out of the ordinary. Chance
