Pacific Moon is located in Westlake on Bee Caves Rd. It has wonderful, inventive chinese food (much more of the Pacific Rim fusion than traditional chinese). If it is traditional chinese you want, you may have to travel to north austin. There, I would recommend two places, Din Ho Chinese Barbecue... very much like restaurants I have been to in New York City during my childhood. Also, Twin Dragons has excellent Vietnamese and Chinese food (and very good Dim Sum on the weekend).

Try Hunan Lion in Brodie Oaks Shopping Center - quite good for Chinese food in Texas; better than any Mexican food I've had in the Bay Area.

Try FORMOSA on Exposition and Windsor. Best in Texas and I have tried some of the best.

Pao's Mandarin House (downtown) is, I think, the best in town.
