If you're staying downtown I recommend Dakotas Restaurant (214) 740-4001. Great steaks & chops, but my favorite meal was the grilled chicken - moist & well seasoned, it was what I remember most about the conference I attended. And if you've been to Dallas you'll understand why a meal would be remembered & not a landmark or museum!

I've been on a project in Dallas for the last three months...although I can't help you out with the barbeque recommendations, Dallas has some of the best restaurants ever (this includes NYC, LA, SF caliber restaurants).

Anyway, my favorites so far have been

Anzu - nouvelle Japanese
Arcodoro - Northern Italian
Green Room - French bistro
Via Real - Tex-Mex
Fontana - Sicilian/So. Italian, very, very good & incredibly cheap.

All of these restaurants are very affordable...unlike The Mansion which was great, but when an appetizer costs $18 it's a bit hard to stomach.

Have a great time & bon appetit.
