If you like "home cookin" style cajun, you'll like Brousards. Most people come for the crawfish. I personally like the fried alligator (it's only been overcooked once out of the multiple times I've had it). They are open for lunch and for 3 or 4 nights out of the week. I know they are closed on Sunday evenings and I think they are closed on Monday or Tuesday evenings. On the nights they are open they have a special (pork chops, grilled chicken in spices, etc.) If you like "gormet" style cajun, don't bother. They don't have creole the way you want. The gumbo will be too salty, spicy, or something. -- but the steaks are good. There are no special, lightly sauteed with just a hint of rosemary vegetables. I hope this helps. I like it. I go there at least once a week. Tess
