Best Sushi

Lately I have found most Austin sushi establishments consistently inconsistent. Whether it is the service, temperature of the fish, or if the rice sticks together or not I personally have a difficult time giving a vote anyone for the best sushi in Austin.

Koyoto (I or II) ranges from excellent to pathetic. Mushashino offers more consistency in food quality, yet it takes an eternity to receive your order (not to mention they are WAY overpriced). Osaka on Anderson Mill has been pleasing, not counting the last time I waited 15 minutes for the waitress to take my order (only two other people were in the restaurant).

I almost hate to say it, but Miyako in Houston (Westheimer location) has offered the best sushi in recent memory. Dirt cheap, quick and courteous service, food served at the perfect temperature and a quaint atmosphere give me the motivation to forgo any Austin-based sushi establishment.

Any other votes?

Shogun at the corner of Manchaca and Slaughter has GREAT sushi.. great taste, great selection, great prices! :)

Seriouly, we just got back from dinner out there and everything there is fantastic, including the service and the atmosphere. Very relaxing..

Jade at 38th and I-35 is pretty good. They make the sushi that HEB/Central Market sells in its cold case, so if you like that, they have those type things and other more exotic things on their menu. Not that expensive either, and they have other types of asian food too.
