For the real prototype try La Fonda in > Alamo Heights (North San Antonio). Well, I nominate Matt's El Rancho BEFORE--Before it moved away from downtown. It was the greatest restaurant in the world. I traveled some 300,000 miles (over 8 years) looking for an equal to Matt's El Rancho (when it was downtown). I kept notes and was writing a book on that subject along with the search for the perfect black bottom pie (available at the Night Hawk, pre 1982). Somebody stole the manuscript while I was eating an ice cream cone in Antioc, Illinois on the 6th of July, 1983. After that I quit writing and became a businessman.

Best Mexican Restaurant in Austin

I haven't eaten there in a year, and I can taste it right now. Delicious seafood.

Very nice atmosphere and a nice bar to relax at while waiting. Several mexican restaurants in northern Vermont have Taco Bell and Chi-chis beat for worst mexican food. Two restaurants in Burlington Vermont serve food that seems like it was taken off a TV dinner.
The weirdest mexican food has to be Montreal, Canada. The food was good, but had sort of a French flair or something. Not too recognizable as mexican.

It is a vegetarian Mexican restaurant. Hope S. wrote: wrote: > > > Several mexican restaurants in northern Vermont have Taco Bell and Chi-chis > > beat for worst mexican food.
