Thanks for the rest of the info. I've gotten to know Hans and Inge from going out to Alt Berlin since they've opened. They're needing all the business they can get, since Bastrop is very very very hard on nice restaurants. They're great folks, and they've got a really nice place. And again, the Jaegerschnitzel is great. I had the bratwurst dinner last Friday night, and it's great, too with wonderful sides of red cabbage. Help them out folks, and come see them. JH

Alt Berlin in Bastrop
quoting chas : > Can you tell us where it's at in Bastrop? (I suppose it wouldn't > take long to find, but save me the extra ten minutes. Thanks) yep, people really should get in the habit of including such info, shouldn't they... (I didn't know it, else I would have included it) ...but I just had an email reply from Hans, so I gave him a call as he's home today (Monday is his day off) The Restaurant is at Tahitian Drive 1001, in the Tahitian Village. phone is 303-4863, a local call from Austin. I just tried it and got their answering machine -- a bit hard to understand, I totally missed the name and the fact that it is a restaurant in Bastrop that I had reached (we'd also talked about putting up a web-page for the restaurant) Take highway 71 through Bastrop, take a right on the second light after the bridge over the Colorado river and you are there. The decor of the mall/shopping area is Tahitian, apparently... (what ever that may mean; though that concept clashes tremendously with all I know about Bastrop. what we'd call "Schnappsidee" in German :) Hours are T-Th 4-9pm, Fr+Sat 4-10pm, Sun 11-2:30pm Opening for lunch is being considered...
