For a relatively small city, Nashville has a surprising number of good restaurants, in all price ranges. Since I haven't lived there since 1988 (but visit often, since my parents live in the area), I'm mostly speaking from memory re: prices.

Faison's on Belcourt Ave. - good beef, fish and pasta dishes, wonderful desert list - about $20-25 per person

12th & Porter on the corner of 12th & Porter Streets - managership changed since I was last there, but I hear it's still good. Unusual but good beef and pasta dishes. Same owner as Faison's. Similar price range.

Multi-Bob on 21st Avenue S (in Hillsboro Village) - unusual pizzas, good pasta dishes. Owner is former manager of 12th & Porter. $15-20 per person.

Rotier's Grill - 25th Ave. ? near Centennial Park. Old-time diner/grill, excellent burgers, good meat & three plates. $5-8 per person

Happy dining!
