In Nashville, you might try the Loveless Motel for breakfast-good country ham and biscuits. People tell me the fried chicken is good also. For a local experience, Hap Townes for lunch. This is a meat and three restaurant. A number of people from music row eat there. Hap Townes is only open for lunch. For dinner, I like Midtown Cafe and the Cakewalk. Both are moderately priced. I don't have much experience with Memphis restaurants but I always have enjoyed the ribs at Vargas' Rendezvous.
