The Parsons Table in Jonesboro (in an old church) used to be interesting. I think it is still there. My sister likes the Martha Washington Inn in Abingdon.

Harmony Grocery in Johnson City
The Epicurean (is that in Johnson City or Jonesboro.. I can't remember) There's a wonderful Mexican restraunt in Bristol - Chaco's. Not fancy, but good food. Of course, as has already been mentioned, there's the Parsons Table in Jonesboro and the Martha Washington Inn in Abingdon. The Peerless (steak) in Johnson City, though not quite as unique and quaint as the others on the list

Who said there's not much in the area? :) Going home to Bristol is a real treat... you should try living here in Cookeville where your choices are limited to steak house chains and O'Charley's.

The Troutdale Dining Room is at 412 Sixth Street in Bristol, Tennessee. According to one source "The Troutdale, featured in Southern Living, specializes in international entrees and Southern cooking." They also specialize in trout, having their own trout farm, with at least a dozen trout main dishes on the ever-changing menu. Excellent food, wine, and service in an old Victorian home. Well worth a visit.

While the Epicurean was excellent a few years back, the service went
to extremely poor and from what I've heard, they may no longer be in business - as the word got around of very poor service and poor management attitude. AVOID if they are still around!! The other listed places are all quite worthy.
