There are a couple of restaurants I'd recommend highly. Both are in Gamla Stan (the "old town" section of Stockholm). Diana and Fem Sma Hus ("Five Small Houses") are excellent. They both offer Swedish cuisine. Diana has a herring buffet "to die for" that can be ordered as either an appetiser or a main course. (Of course, you have to like herring.)

Dinner in either place should run about SEK 350, exclusive of drinks, so they're not cheap. And alcohol in Sweden is *extremely* expensive. On the other hand, the food, the service and the ambiance are superior in both places.
