We ate at Chaya in Sq. Hill last night. I can only say AWESOME. The selection is extensive and the quality is unsurpassed. Move over UMI.

We had a "Deluxe Sushi/Sushimi" platter and I might do it again this week. All of the fish is flown in from NY and Japan every day. The Maguro (tuna) was deep red and looked like it just came off the boat. Ditto for everything else. There are some selections like Agi (don't know if it's spelled correctly) which is a Japanese favorite not found frequently here.

Don't try to put the wasabi into the soy here... it is fresh ground (not the powdered 'paste' found in most other restaurants) and deserves to be added to the fish directly. The flavor is delicate and not the tear bringer found in powders.

Murray Ave. in Sq. Hill in the same block as Mineos. They have a website for those interested:

Enjoy!
