Let me say first off that I DID tip the sushi chefs AND gave the waitress a healthy tip (20%) also. That should keep several of you from flaming me. Anyway, the name of the place is : Appetizers Plus 1117 N. 19th Street Rosslyn, VA 22209 (703) 525-3171 How to get there : the best directions I can give is to say that it is on the non-DC side of the Key Bridge. If you are coming across the Key Bridge, get in the left lane and go straight up the hill three or four blocks. You will go through an underpass and have to stop. Make a left and head back towards the bridge. McDonalds on the left, sushi on the right. I have been there 6 or 7 times and still have some trouble getting there. Good luck. Some of the things on their ($15.95) buffet : SUSHI : (nagiri, japanese names where needed to specify) tuna / salmon / mackeral / snapper squid / octo / eel (anago) / shrimp (ebi) / spicy tuna / spicy salmon little pastry hats (sort of brown and sweet) ROLLS : calif / calif+roe / super calif +egg +misc / super calif inside-out +much roe (mmmmm) mushroom / avacado / asparagas / cucumber / some pickled yellow thing (yuck) tuna / bagel (salmon+cream cheese) / eel+cucumber SPECIAL : deep fried california roll with white sauce OH MY GOD HAVE YOU TRIED THIS?!?!?! !!!!! they claim this as a special Tiawanese thing. I've never seen it anywhere else. It has a light tempura batter, and the sauce is a little sweet. It is very, very good. OTHER STUFF : snow crab legs / shrimp and veggie tempura / general tsos chicken / mixed lo mein / fried rice sweet and sour chicken / chunks of chicken, tuna, pork / octopus teriaki fruit bar / salad bar / miso soup I only mention that other food because most people have non-sushi people in their party. The other food is thoroughly satisfying for even a picky eater. Oh, and did I mention that they take requests? They happily made me some Masago hand rolls. No extra charge, they just toss it out on the bar. God I wish we had one of these in the Burgh. S !
