My husband swears by a restaurant called "Poogin's Porch". He managed to have a gourmet meal there a few weeks ago and is still raving about it. I'm not exactly sure of the location, but it's got to be in town because he didn't have a car.

>>If you had two nights to dine in Charleston, SC, where would you >recommend? >> >>Mostly interested in regional cuisine, preferably in-town. >> Hyman's for seafood...and an experience. The place is remarkable. The man should be teaching graduate courses at Wharton on "How To Do It Right." * Great prices * Great portions * Extensive menu * Management cares -- a manager visits every table. * Management cares -- there are signs all over the place that tell Hyman's message about 'Attitude.' (Actually he borrowed the thought from Charles Swindoll.) * The kitchen is in the front window so you can see how clean it is and how they tend to preparation. * There is always a waiting list -- unless you are the very first ones there. * There is a sign that tells those who wait "If your wait is 90 minutes or more you may want to consider the following restaurants in the area..." Then he lists a half-dozen other joints in the area. Bottom line... Hyman tells everyone his secret -- including his competition -- and he THRIVES. Go there and enjoy the experience. Let me know if you do and how you enjoyed it. Cheers, Dave Ross
