Just got back from Charleston. Dined at the Charleston Grill and Louis's, both fine restaurants, but the best eating was at two shacks on James Island, south of Charleston - Bowen's Island for Oysters and Backman's Seafood for White Shrimp. Bowen's Island roasts oysters gathered that day from local marshes. Backman's sells shrimp unload from their boats which dock every morning.
