I really miss the wholesome health-conscious meals that were plentiful back home. We have discovered that the dining experience in this corner of the world is regarded a little differently than in the rest of the civilized world. Grease seems to be the fifth food group here, and there doesn't seem to be many places that fall between the "greasy spoon" and nicer places (rich-people restaurants). Granted, Stephanie is a chef/baker by trade, and we're both used to having the freshest vegetables and finest cuts of meat available, so we tend to be very picky, and haven't found many places that live up to our standards. Fortunately, we've found a few nice places that don't gouge their patrons with outrageous prices and poor service. If you're interested in coming down this way to eat, I'll give you my best recommendation. "Spain" on Reservior Ave (rte 2) North of Hwy 37. The best continental cuisine we've found in NE. Complete meal for 2 people, including dessert (no bar tab) for $60, including tip. Outstanding seafood pasta, delectible lamb and veal. This chef is really top-notch, a must-see atmosphere. We went there for my birthday and had the perfect food, perfect ambiance, perfect service. Regards, /=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=\ / Rick L.
