Well--- All good things must come to an end...Last Sunday evening, August 10 th---a group of friends and myself met at Benjamin's for our "post Folk Festival" dining extravaganza----the 5th or 6th--in a row in August. To say that the service was poor would be more than kind----After insulting our children, the person "in charge"--basically refused to allow our group to order appetizers until the entire party ( +/- 25 people ) were ready to do so at once--NOW GET THIS FOLKS--we're talking about spending $1500--$2000 in real money and have done so for at least 5 years in a row--but--this year we're getting a major hassle about it-----It is true that the owner, Richard, was in Maine at the time--but it is also true that we have reserved tables for this event yearly!!! Anyway---Benjamin's does have good food---and maybe it was just a bad day for the manager---BUT, In my business we take return customers a little more seriously---- At least there is a happy ending---the next night we went out to locate a new site for our annual bash----The Red Parrott, Thames Street--has really good food--nicer athmosphere---and a staff who seem to be in the business of customer satisfaction.. Does anyone else frequent establishments where you have to fucking beg--to spend your money on a recurring basis?? If you have had a similar experience in Newport--please send me a reply--I hope to mail a packet of suggestions to Benjamin's.... thanks ---- Dadream Enterprises Black Sheep Farms P.O.Box 724 Camden, S.C. 29020 Roy and Joan Flynn, Sarah, Jim, and Katherine Horton
