Opinions differ on good pizza about as much as they do on barbecue. What is tops for one person may be just OK to another. Since I'm more interested in the sauce than any other single part of a pizza, I don't necessarily get turned on by loads of stuff piled on top of the cheese. The best pizza I've had recently was at New York Pizzaria in Jacksonville, NC. Pizzas are the size of manhole covers and are sold by the slice or an AYCE lunch buffet for about $5.50 including drink. NY Pizzaria usually has only sausage and pepperoni pizzas already made. The NY crust is fantastic, the cheese is perfect and grease literally drips off each slice. The taste is something I haven't been able to find the equal of in the Raleigh area, but pizzas like that can be found around Times Square in NYC. Very generous with the toppings, and their large is actually large. Quite reasonably priced too. I'm ashamed to say, as big a pizza person as I am, and as good as Lilly's is supposed to be, I have not yet made it there. Definitely on the agenda, however. -Tony "Here is my principle: Taxes shall be levied according to ability to pay." --Franklin Delano Roosevelt "From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs." --Karl Marx

Buy slices in the store and they are HUGE, thin crust, excellent crust, sauce and cheese, and if you get any toppings, you will get a lot. As good as I ate when I lived in NYC.
