Lucia's Restaurant
1432 W 31st Street
St. Paul
612-825-1572

I have never eaten here but I hear very good thinks about it. They recently won an award for the best Pizza in the country by some restaurant association.

Good Luck

This is the wrong restaurant. Lucia's is more like country French, trendy food. Besides, Lucia's is in Mpls.

Mr. Izatt wants to know about Ristorante Luci, an Italian place in St. Paul. That is:
      Ristoranti Luci
      470 Cleveland Avenue South
      St. Paul
      (612) 699-8258

Ristorante Luci is the best Italian restaurant in the Twin Cities, or at least one could so argue. (I know, there are other contenders; suffice it to say that this one is darned good.) It is a small, upscale, authentic family affair, with a Northern Italian feel. They generally book up quickly--if you try for a reservation the day you wish to eat there, you'll end up eating after 9:30 or before 5:00; at least, that's been my experience. I can't recommend them strongly enough.

There are two. One is Cafe Luci in St. Paul and the other (non-related) is Lucia's in the Uptown area, 31st and Hennepin. Cafe Luci was a disappointment to me on my two visits. They didn't use garlic in receipes calling out for it. What's an Italian restaurant without garlic? Lucia's has recently expanded and I believe would be the better choice.
