Don't forget to try a) Chicago-style stuffed pizza at Bacino's, 75 East Wacker downtown or 2204 Lincoln north of downtown ... (Runners-up: Edwardo's, Carmen's, and Giordano's)

Or failing that, b) Chicago-style pan pizza at Gino's East, on Superior just off of Michigan Avenue (Or Dempster & Skokie, or Golf and Algonquin) ... Runners-up: Uno and Due' (the originals).

Colleagues have recommended Geppeto's in Naperville (?) but I've not had a chance to try them out yet ...

Well, I'm probably biased by all the emotions of my college years, but I think most of us at Northwestern University (Evanston, just north of Chicago) went nuts for Carmen's Pizzeria. There are several locations now, including 1 in Evanston (the more ambient one there closed), and 1 near Loyola University just off the EL.

I always loved their stuffed pizza, and still highly recommend it (I was there just last summer).

Enjoy,
