WINE! in Pittsburgh

Regarding Dreadnought Wines - I stopped by there one day while shopping
in the strip. They sell wine by the case, as I recall, and you can mix
the wines, that is, choose the particular wines you want in your case.
The guy there gave me a printout of the wines available. I don't remember
being very impressed with the selection. If they had a better selection
it would probably be a better deal than having to go through the state
store and buying a whole case of just one wine. I'm not sure what the
deal is with them. They are not connected to the state stores (at least
I don't think so) and they are not a winery outlet.

Dreadnought Wines in the Strip is an independent wine importer.
I'm not sure what technicality in the PA laws they're exploiting,
 but the deal is:

 1) you must order at least $50 worth of wine

 2) you have to wait 3 or 4 days between placing your
order and picking it up, because there's a bunch of
paperwork that has to go to Harrisburg.

they have a carefully chosen selection - a few wines that are
under $10, but most are more than that. the guy who runs the
place is very knowledgable. so if you're looking for quality
 wine, check it out.

 cheers,

 Mitzi
