My experience with Cherry Street Chinese Vegetarian has been rather different. Cherry Street opened as the first imitator of Harmony Vegetarian restaurant, the original all-vegetarian Chinese restaurant in Philadelphia. The second imitator was Singapore.

I tried Cherry Street several times and found it overly greasy and lacking in flavor. As a result, I stopped going there, even though it is a bit cheaper than Harmony and Singapore. Since I have not been to Cherry Street in several years, I suppose it is possible that their food has improved.

Harmony is at Ninth and Cherry Streets. I believe that their telephone number is 215.627.4520, although I do not find it in the Yellow Pages.

Singapore is at 1029 Race Street and their telephone number is 215.922.3288.
