I don't know about the others, but I was at Ciboulette in late
January; since all meals are appetizer-sized we opted for the Chef's Tasting which ran about $70.00 per person; 5 courses, all excellent,
*AND* (the very best part is about to come.........)

All the dessert you could choose from a scrumptious dessert cart that carried about 15 different offerings!

We will definitely go back to Le Ciboulette the next time we are in Philly!!!

Of course, Le Bec Fin is one of the greatest in the world--not just Philadelphia. Forget Dilullo Centro. La Famiglia (on Front Street) has often been termed the Italian Le Bec Fin. It's superb, and the wine list is incredible. Must try the veal with tuffles, if they have any!! Enjoy.

Chanterelles, Ciboulette and Jake's are good bets as are La Buca and "La" Familia. All are in Center City, with the exception of Jake's which is a 20 minute drive away, in the Manyunk section of Philadelphia.

One place you should also consider is the Fountain Room at the Four Seasons Hotel. It's rated right up there with Le Bec Fin.

My favorite restaurant, and admittedly a controversial choice, is Jack's Fire House. Jack McDavid cooks regional American cuisine using some of the freshest and best quality ingredients that you'll find anywhere. Jack's also opening up a new place this week, the Smokey Mountain Grill that will feature regional Southern Barbecue and home cooking - different price range and ambience than the prices you are considering, but I've had the opportunity to try both the Owensboro BBQ lamb and the smoked salmon and recommend it highly.

Yes, very good choice. Le Bec Fin is overdone in my opinion, too stuffy and the food is not as innovative as you'll find elsewhere.

Just to prove Holly correct, I will disagree (again) and suggest you not waste a night at Jack's. Contorted combinations that don't work.

I have not been to your other choices, so I can't comment on them. I think I'll try one this weekend though! I recommend Circa and Striped Bass (get the diver scallop). Tequila's is one of my favorites - real Mexican food, not burritos. Try the mojcahete. When you ask for the "real hot sauce" you get sliced habaneros and onions in vinegar. If you're in the mood for mussels, go to Michel's.

Enjoy,
