Upcoming Visit to Pitts

since you will be staying at the Westin, Market Square will not be too far
from you--i'd guess less than a $5 cab ride. A Pittsburgh factoid, city
proper is all of about 2.5 square miles (the triangle portion, surrounded by
the rivers), so you can walk from one end of town to the other in about 20
 minutes.

The strip district is also part of the triangle, but it runs parallel with
one of the rivers (Allegheny). If you were to imagine the city as an
isosceles triangle, the Allegheny and the Monongahela rivers would be the
legs/sides, while Grant St. (the road on which you will find the Westin) is
the base. the Westin would be approximately at the middle of the base.

The Northside and Southside are across the rivers in their respective
directions...the heart of the Southside is about 10-20 blocks in the
direction away from the city on Carson street (which is the same road that
 Station Square is on).

Bloomfield is approximately a $5 cab ride from the Westin. If one were to
extend the base of the triangle (Grant St.) and continue in that direction
(after a few road name changes, but going "straight") you would be in the
 middle of Bloomfield.
