Strip District - runs along the Allegheny River, on the parallel streets
Smallman and Penn Avenue. The bulk of the strip is between 16th and 24th.

Bloomfield - Parallel yet again to Penn Avenue is Liberty Ave. If you
travel on Liberty away from downtown Pgh, (past the Strip, through
Lawrenceville) you will eventually end up in Bloomfield.

Northside - Across the Allegheny river from downtown - theyre building the
new stadia there, so it's pretty hard to miss. Can cross on 7-8 bridges,
 by car or on foot.

Southside - Across the Monongahela River from downtown. Runs east
approximately from Station Square to 27th street along the main drag,
Carson Street. There is activity for several blocks on either side of
Carson. (West from Station Sqaure is West End.) While Station Square is an
easy walk/T ride from your hotel, most of "South Side's" other action is a
good 10 blocks farther east (around 11th - 27th streets is where the
restaurants, clubs, bookstores and antique shops are)

Market Square - Smack dab in the middle of downtown, Forbes Avenue &
Market Street make the intersection. Bounded by PPG Place (the "glass
palace") on the Monongahela/South boundary of the square.

 Hope this helps!
