My question is: does anyone have any recommendations for good crab : places?

It's not a crab place per se, but Shiao Lang Kung in Chinatown (right next to House of Chen) is a *great* Chinese seafood place that has amazing salt-baked soft-shell crab, among other delicious things. It's become one of those dishes that is ordered everytime we go there, no questions asked...plus I think the place is open till 3 am during week!! I've been there around 1 am once.

Note: on the menu it's spelled "Sale-baked soft-shell crab." FYI.

Here's an update so far:
We went to Reale's at Cottman & Frankford on Monday night. $1.50 #1 crabs in a garlic type sauce cleaned. Very good. I'd give their crabs an 8 on a scale of 1 to 10. Tuesday night we went to Albert's at Grant & Academy. 5 #1 crabs for $6 not cleaned in a hot garlic type sauce. Very good. They'd get an 8 but they weren't cleaned so it's a 7 for them. Day 4
Went to Mimi's on the Delaware. It's around 9200 Delaware Ave near Linden Ave boat ramp. Crabs were pricey-3 for $12 and they were dirty! They cleaned them on request. Boiled and spicy, they get an 8. Going to make my own this Saturday. They always get a 10. Bill C. wrote:
