 dear Michael,

The Pines is very good. However, there are two different priced menus,
one for the restaurant and one for the bar. They serve the same food for
much less in the bar. Example is the crab cakes, restaurant @ $15., the
bar's price is @$7. sHowever, the restaurant is more elegant, the bar
more casual and much less seating. If you go on a week-end and want to
sit in the bar area you have to be there by 5 PM. My husband and I are
there at least two a month, we like the atmosphere and the food. I do
 recommend it.
 Good luck!

Yep. It's very nice. We live near North Park, so we do get there
once or twice per year. We usually dine out at ethnic places
(Chinese, Japanese, Tex-Mex, Indian, Italian) so we don't have
American food high on our list of priorities. However, if you
do like American food, you'll probably LOVE The Pines.

I agree! THe Pines is awesome, but eat in the bar. The prices are lower
and I personally like the atmosphere in the bar much better. Try the
peppers from hell as an appetizer. They're really good!!
