My favorite restaurant is the Kleiner Deutchmann in Springdale.
The restaurant is a converted house, originally the owner's grandmother's
house. It is wonderfully decorated, like a cross between the
original house decorations and a cozy inn. The food is outstanding,
the wine and beer lists are extensive and reasonably priced. If you
order the house special (veal shank in a cinnamon apple sauce) they
ring bells as they bring it out! I have taken relatives and friends
to the Kleiner Deutchmann, and they were all very impressed.

Plan on making a reservation, since it is a small restaurant and
 quite popular.

One of my favorite restaurants is the Willow Inn, which is way down in Oak
Forest - near Waynesburg. About an hour from Downtown down to exit 3 or 4
 on I-79.

Ralph Wilson, the chef, is self taught and quite eclectic. The food is
fixed menu, served family style (each table gets a platter/bowl or each
dish, so if you like it you can have more). The Willow Inn itself is a
 restored 18th century inn.

 Reservations *required*. Great for groups.

And, Ralph keeps a database of customers, so when you come again (you'll
want to) he'll try and make sure you don't get the same dishes...

 Enjoy!

ps: if you call Ralph, tell him you saw Rob's post - I'm trying to get him
to get an internet connection to take reservations via email!

I went to Cafe Allegro on the Southside for a special occasion. it was
quite fancy and was a real slice of LA dining. But stay away from the hot
 pepper appetizer, its really hot.
