I've been following the thread about the spotty quality of produce and seafood at supermarkets and their relative merits: I feel absolutely compelled to say- Go To The Strip District !! (Assuming that some of the posts were from people new to the area, "the Strip " refers to the area downtown between approx. 15th St and 25th St., between Penn Ave and Smallman St. Go to Wholey's for seafood, and any of the produce stores (Alioto's, Stan's Market and Weisberg and Sons are among the better known): you will get good produce at a fraction of supermarket cost.) If you include the time spent in the checkout queues at supermarkets, it doesnt even take that much more time... Just my $0.02, though it's admittedly a little off the thread (so far).
