Strip Breakfast (huh huh)

It may not be romantic, unless you and your SO are in to mutual gluttony, but
the Smallman Street Diner, dahn there on 17th (or thereabouts, around the open
market there) has HUGE breakfasts for great prices. Example, the "special" I
got featured 3 eggs, home fries, 3 sausage, toast and a big-ass belgian waffle for under 5 bucks. The portions were monstrous and I barely finished everythingin about 45 minutes (my buddies doubted I could, so a measure of spite and pridecould be figured in). But anyway, it wasn't just big, but very tasty. Minimal grease. And the service was great. Our waitress was a real pistol.

I think the place is open 24 hours and consequently does a huge late night, postMetropol/Rosebud/Whiskey Dicks/Donzi's/Chuck-E-Cheeses (whatever) business. Go there late mornings for the least busy times.
