There is no good place to go for breakfast in the strip, I think its better to
go to other places in the city for that, thanks

 I would beg to differ.

Primanti's and La Prima are both great for breakfast.

It's the commerical food district with wholesalers who also sell to the
public. A very crowded and happening place on Saturdays when _many_
Pittsburghers shop there. Italian, Asian, Produce, coffee roasters,
bakeries, fresh fish and more. It's worth a visit if you like food
(though it is less crowded on weekdays, especially mornings)

Most of the action is on Penn Avenue between about 16th street and
(I'm guessing here...) 23rd street. There's also some stuff on Smallman
which parallels Penn but is one street closer to the Allegheny River.
The Strip runs parallel to the river from Downtown Pittsburgh toward
Lawrenceville. From Shadyside I guess your best bet would be to
travel up Aiken to Centre & Baum and then angle slightly left onto Liberty
Ave (toward West Penn Hospital). Follow Liberty most of the way
downtown. You could turn right at 28th street and follow either
Penn (One way into town until 16th street) or Smallman into the
strip. Parking can be a real pain on Saturday's so you may have
 to hunt around.

The 86A bus which kind of brushes the top of Shadyside at Centre
Ave and Negley and then across and back down Liberty also runs
 right down Penn Ave.

My favorite places to shop include Parma Sausage, Pennsylvania Macaroni
Company, Jimmy & Nino Sunseri's, Wholeys, Sam-Bok (including the Mung
Bean pancakes available from the street vendor out front). I'm sure
others can add their favorites. There are plenty of places to eat
 as well.
