 Geroge,

Welcome to Allison Park! Actually, I have a Gibsonia mailing address,
but I'm closer to Allison Park. Looking for decent restaurants up there,
eh?? Me too...and I've been there a year now. Here's what I've found
so far that fits the "best I have found yet" catagory. Note: that
 doesn't necessarily mean great.

Pizza: Messina's on Middle Road 1/4 mile north of Turnpike (in the
Wagner's Market plaza) has decent pizza. They also have great hoagies
(especially the steak & cheese hoagie)!

Chinese: There's a place at the corner of Route 8 and Hardies Rd (just
north of the Turnpike on Rte 8), but I can't remember the name. It's on
the near right corner as you're headed north...in with a Monte Cello's
and an old (closed) Howard Johnsons. Pretty good...I don't recommend the
spring rolls, but the other items we've ordered were good.

Italian: Arrostaria in the Coventry Plaza (on Rte. 8, just north of
Wildwood on the left) was impressive...both quality and price. Great
 bread!

Japanese: I've not been, but I've heard several great recommendations
for Koto Buki in North Park. On Old Babcock Rd., off of Babcock Blvd.
about 1/2 mile south of Wildwood (Yellow Belt).

 Others:
Tuscan Inn on Wildwood (3/4 mi(?) west of Rte. 8) is supposedly good,
perhaps a little pricey. I haven't been there, but have gotten some
 feedback from others here.

Hampton Inn: Heard mixed reviews, but I haven't been there. My real
estate agent loves the place, one of my nieghbors hated it. I haven't
gotten around to trying it. (don't eat out a lot, and other places were
ahead of it on my list).

Hope this helps. If you run into any others or try some of these, please
 share the info!

 Regards,
 Michael

On route 8 near the turnpike there is the Venus Diner which is a great
place to go for breakfast. Also they have really great pies. For lunch
alot of peoople like 'Chubbs which is near North Park on the Yellow Belt.
They are both not dives, but are unassuming.
