I hope that this place turns out to be better than Spice Island. We used to go to Spice Island often when it first opened. About a year later, their food and service declined in quality, considerably. Since then, we have not returned to Spice Island and nor do we plan to. We sincerely wish that this venture heads in the right direction. > One of the owners of Spice Island Tea House, Ron Lee, has opened a new > restaurant called Road to Karakash. > The new place is also on Atwood, on the opposite (west) side of the > street from Spice Island, and farther away from Forbes, but not > past Mad Mex (sorry I don't have the street address). A VERY eclectic menu, only partailly available at current moment, but they will be bringin in new stuff soon. They had two Eitheopean (sp?) dishes, one appetizer one entree. Having never eaten this cuisine I cannot compare, but they were definitely good. All of us would go back. (One can't wait for them to have the lamb chops) As for Spice Island. I don't understand why so many feel it's bad. I love the place. Mind you, if they get Wheel Delivery orders, you have to wait. They are obligated to serve them first. A part of me hopes they drop WD, and a part wants to be able to order when I cannot go. *sigh* I personally feel the food is just as good as it was a year ago.
