 Tivoli Restaurant
 Rodi Road, Penn Hills
 Review by Paul Melko

In celebration of my birthday, my wife and I dined at Tivoli
Thursday night. I had been there on two other occasions with
customers; my wife had never been there.

Parking is by valet. We arrived at 5:30 and there was no
wait for a table for two. When my wife had called to make
reservations, the host assured her that none would be needed
for two on a Thursday night.

The dining room was bright and sunny. We were seated near
the window, with a view of Rodi Road. Two other tables
in the dining room were occupied at that point, but by the
time we left, the room was nearly full.

The menu offered a number of specials and was dominated
by the pasta and seafood sections. Small sections showed
beef, lamb, and chicken entrees. My wife ordered a special,
the spinach ravioli with a salad. I ordered the chicken
and fettucine alfredo, wedding soup, fruit cup, and twice-
baked potato. As an appetizer, we ordered the provolone
sticks. These proved to be excellent.

The soup, as well, was very good. I left the fruit cup
unfinished, primarily because it was dominated by melon,
which I don't care for. The strawberries and grapes looked
a little beat-up as well. My wife said the salad was
 good.

Her entree, the spinach ravioli with a primavera sauce, was
very good. She especially liked the chunky sauce. My
own entree was huge, coming with a full order of the pasta
and two half-breasts. After the soup, bread, and cheese,
I found I could only eat half of it. The chicken was very
good, not too dry. The pasta was excellent, very tasty. The
 twice-baked potato was also excellent.

Cost was about $40, including tips to the waiter and the
valet. Service was excellent. For a special occasion,
 we recommend this fine restaurant.
