With Jim's uncle in from Florida, we decided to try
the Pittsburgh Steak Company in the South Side.
We were happy to find out it's a wonderful place
to go for a great meal.

Around here, steak houses tend to be either very expensive
 (Morton's/Ruth's Cris) or very cheap
(Ponderosa). Pittsburgh Steak Company is on
the high side of moderate (dinner for three with
drink, dessert and tips ran about $30 a head), but
the food was excellent. We had various kinds
of beef, twice baked potatoes and desserts. I don't
know if the desserts are homemade or not, but
the chocolate suicide cake was excellent even
though it wasn't completely thawed out. Even
the garlic bread had decent amounts of garlic on
it. The onion rings were perfect. The food quality
probably most reminded me of Ken's Steak House in
 Framingham (MA).

My only complaint about the Pittsburgh Steak Company is
that the beer selection is limited. They did have
Sierra Nevada, so it's not as bad as those restaurants
that only carry Bud, Miller and Iron City.
