Does it have to be DOWNTOWN Pittsburgh?

The Common Plea is very good and downtown. Christophers up on Mount
Washington is very good, very dressy. Poli's is good.

If I can think of any more, I'll post again.

My favorite italian restaurant in downtown Pittsburgh is Picolo Picolo located
at the end of Wood Street by the Monongahela River. Intimate atmosphere and gre
at marinated antipasto. They prepare a struedel like pasta dish stuffed with sp
inach in a white sauce that is out of this world.

 Other good italian places include:

Tambellini's on 7th St., past the Benedum Center. They have great slivers of fr
 ied zucchini.

Bravo Franco-across from Heinz Hall, quite elegant and great food. They also ru
n a more casual place called Bravo Trattoria on 6th Street near Heinz Hall.
Cafe Allegro on the South Side is also nice.
Hope this solves your hunger pains in Pittsburgh--Enjoy your trip
