Painted Parrot

I went to Painted Parrot for dessert and tea tonight. Although I have heard good things about it in the past, upon returning there for the third time, I am very disappointed. I don't mind the lousy service and the attitude the waiters have since usually we are in and out of there in 45 minutes but what is up with their desserts? For a place that has been known for their desserts (they have just recently switched over to also serving lunch and dinner,) I am amazed how mediocre they are. My dessert was layered with whipped cream and tangy fruit sauce as was my partner's only his was in a different color. All I could taste was sugar and cream and after a couple of bites, I was beginning to think that they _buy_ their desserts rather than hiring a dessert chef. I waited for half an hour for a tepid tea that didn't steep and the entire thing was a bit overpriced. It seems as if they concentrate too much on appearance than quality--- anyone had similar or different experiences?
