 Wow, _another_ new coffeehouse.

Dancing Goats just opened today. (uh, yesterday.) It's on, guess where?
down the street from "Common Grounds". Take your pick... OK, it's on
ellsworth between Maryland and College. So, a block and a half shy of
the Italian Oven, and a block and a half after the Elbow Room.

Well, I just walked in and congratulated the owner was all. (I didn't
test the coffee yet.) It occupies a outer quarter of this, uh, office
building. It's about the size of the 51C Cafe, which is to say on the
petite size. This it the space where an eat-in movie theatre was to open
in a year, but it all fell through at the last minute.

-rather moderne looking. that hip shadyside thing. you know?
-they differentiate themselves by desserts. flown in from California,
with about 20 different cakes by my quick count. I saw one guy serve one
up (oh yeah, lots of waiters.) in a pool of artfully designed ?creme? or
sauce. Looked yummy, wish I ate dairy products almost.
-smoking? Oh yeah. Bigtime. Well, it was opening night, so the owners
buddies made some sort of party of it. It doesn't look like you can
separate the place with a no-smoking section either.
-coming soon,....gifts?? that's what it said.
-don't fly by it, no big sign up yet. (city hasn't granted permission.)

well, that's 5 coffeshops in shadyside now. plus La Chacuterie, where I
usually get my coffee from, 90% of the time. Boy, life's too hard here.
