Congratulations! That restaurant would be Fajita Grill in Pleasant Hills. On Old Clairton Road about 1 1/2 miles from the Route 51 cloverleaf. They're in the phone book. Kate

The place is Fajita Grill in the south hills, and directions are as follows: Fajita Grill, 580 Old Clairton Road, Pleasant Hills. [Old Clairton Road hits Route 51 just after (heading South) 51 crosses the "Yellow Belt (Crown Buick is across the street). On Old Clairton the Fajita Grill is just before you get to the Red Bull Inn.

Get the California burrito with estra hot sauce. BTW it is now(or at least the last time I was there) more family oriented. It was INCREDIBLE when Big Steve Risen owned it and is still better than just about any other mexican restaurant in Pgh. IMHO! yr obdnt srvnt wck
I'll agree the food there is good, but I would in no way call it Mexican. More Tex-Mex or Cal-Mex. Perhaps even "Burgh-Mex. Unfortunately we associate Mexican food with tacos and buritos. Thats like limiting American food to burgers and fries. Sadly Pittsburgh has no true Mexican restaurant (to my knowledge) where you can enjoy good moles, fresh seafood, and great turkey dishes (much more common in authentic Mexican than chicken).

I lived in Mexico for a year & really miss the people & the food (and the prices!). Just as interesting tidbit, the inverse seems to be true, In mexico U.S. chains (KFC, Denney's, McD etc.) defined US foods in Mexican minds. There were a few exceptions and interesting adaptations but generally, burgers, hot dogs & fries. >Sadly Pittsburgh has no true Mexican > restaurant (to my knowledge) where you can enjoy good moles, fresh > seafood, and great turkey dishes (much more common in authentic Mexican > than chicken). Check out Cozumel in Shadyside, they have a decent mole. I'm not sure about the seafood & turkey though (I always get the mole since it is so hard to find). -Noah
