Lunch at Palamino

Just had an excellent lunch at Palomino (Gateway Center #4) downtown. This
place is pretty awesome. I think it is a chain, but I was really impressed.
The table bread is a great fluffy homebaked bread served with an interesting
tomato-feta sauce (worth the trip downtown by itself). The lunch was served
fairly quickly with generous lunch portions. I had the Tuna Steak (rare)
which was superbly fresh and served over some awesome mashed potatoes and a
buttery sauce that I practically licked off the plate. My friend had a
Caesar Salad with chicken strips and a bowl of Portabella soup (cream based)
which was very flavorful (a tad salty in my taste, but he didn't think so).

The restaurant is quite large, and it was completely full, but they did seat
us quickly. I think they were taking reservations. The staff was really
friendly and attentive and the decor is very classy for the 'burgh. They
serve from an open kitchen, so you can see the food being prepped.

It was more expensive than my normal lunch meal -- The Tuna was around $14,
and the salads and sandwiches were in the $6-9 range. Certainly worth it
though for an occasional outing. I should have taken a look at the dinner
menu for prices, but I'll likely check it out for dinner soon.

 Anyone else been there?
