I got better Thai food here than in Bangkok! For a mix of thai and S.E. Asian food, try the Spice Island Teahouse in Oakland, I still think their Pad Thai is very good. Also try Pnom Penh (Cambodian) downtown.

Looking for Thai rest. recommendations
Try Thai Garden on Atwood Street. We love it and eat there frequently. Hope you enjoy it. You can also try O'Cha in Verona (321 South Ave). CM Chu Someone wrote: : Try Thai Garden on Atwood Street. My favorite dish is their Musamun Curry. I haven't tried the Thai dishes at Pnom Penh but their Cambodian specialties are very good. I'm not at all fond of Spice Island Teahouse but I haven't tried their Thai dishes so perhaps they are better than the other things I've tried. But I doubt it. Kate

I've been there several times and never had an authentic-tasting meal (esp with regards to the soups and the *-with-basil dishes, which are classics). In addition, the service has often been horrible. Phnom Penh (Cambodian) does good green curry and serves each meal with an excellent spring roll&soup combo. Fay
I think people are confusing Thai Place with Thai Garden. TP is in shadyside, TG is in oakland.
