I second that feeling. I had the worst Thai food ever at that restaurant. Greasy greasy GREASY! Elizabeth

lemmongrass restaurant
I like Lemongrass. We enjoyed its earlier incarnation as Siamese Kitchen. The new restaurant is similar but with a bit nicer decor and it is a bit more expensive. The food is tasty (I always like their curries) and they now have interesting specials that are worth trying. It has always been relatively crowded when I've been there, which I hope is a sign they will be around for a while. -Avrim
I ate at Lemongrass Saturday night. It was crowded so we (5 of us) waited for about 30 minutes for a table. (I don't usually wait that long for a table, but with this group of people, it's hard to decide on restaurants.) We had to ask twice about being seated as they seemed to have forgotten about us, even though we were standing in full view of the staff. The food was good, but overpriced for the portion size (I could have eaten another whole entree). The eggplant dish my friend got was very good. I had a noodle dish that was interesting. The pad thai was average (I'm not really into it.) The food *was* a bit oily as another poster mentioned. The service, however, was downright awful. Maybe it was just our waitress, & hopefully not everyone who works there is as inept & clueless. I don't want to go into the whole story because it would get too long. I don't know if I would go back. The whole experience was funny in a twisted way, & I'm glad I was there to see how bad bad service can be. Ruth Ann Schmidt Hunt Library

The portions were very small and overpriced for what you get. The Pad Thai was the worst. The appetizers wer pretty expensive and not too good. In my opinion, Thai Garden on Atwood Street has better food for way less money and you can bring your own beer or wine there.

Actually, this is typical for authentic Chinese and Thai food as the oil serves is an important source of calories for many of those living in China and Thailand. (Note, however, that I have never ate at Lemmongrass so I can't comment on the authenticity of their food.) >Ruth Ann Schmidt >Hunt Library Thanx, Ed Stuart [email removed]
