An extremely promising new French Bistro has opened on Bellefonte St. We
went there for lunch on Sunday, and can recommend it.

I had the Soupe du Jour (Soupe des tomates in this case), and the
Assiette de Cochonailles (which was listed as an entree, but which
served admirably as a lunch main).
Tony had the Vol a Vent au Poulet et Champignons Sauvages and the Salade
de Poulet Grille. We both had a glass of rather nice Bordeaux, and a
baguette (which they bake in house). All was more than acceptable.
 We'll certainly return for dinner.

At least on the current indications, this place deserves to become very
popular, so go while it's still easy to get in. They're open 7 days a
 week.

709 Bellefont (from memory) [it's not a long street anyway].

It was about $50 for lunch for the two of us, including wine and tip.
Dinner looks as if it would be in the $40 per head range. It seemed
 reasonably priced to me.

Ok, well I went back to Le P. And I had ANOTHER very mediocre
meal....What's going on with this place? ...some people rave, some people
say so-so. Perhaps they have different people cooking on different nights
and I'm going on the bad nights?

We went to the Hyehold the other night and the food was TREMENDOUS. It
was more expensive than LeP but worth every dime. It was like the kind of
meal you have in NY and something you would be very proud to take out of
town visitors to here in the Burgh.
