: Ralph's in the 7 or 8 times I have been there it has only proven itself to be : one of the worst Italian restaurants in the city. The menu is limited and : over priced, the service horrendous -- a waiter started arguing with me about : a comment I had made about the food when he asked how everything was : (I had noticed salmon was high) -- and not to mention patronizing. The food : is very standard and actually prepared incorrectly from a gastronomical : perspective (beware all their foods are drowned in over powering sauces that : completely mask the taste of the supposedly "freshest ingredients". The : ambience upstairs is loud (table conversations are barely audible) and so : crowded you can barely move your arms to cut to your food (downstairs is : definitely preferable).

The last time I ate at Ralph's was about 18 months ago. I would eat there more often, but its far from where I live. When I was there last, it was for an impromptu Christmas gathering. We were a group of over 30 people who made reservations only a couple of days in advance of our party as I recall. Everyone of the people, including me, had a fantastic time. The food was excellent and the service couldn't have been better.

If you have a problem with the price of an item at any restaurant, complaining about it to a waitperson makes no sense. Its not like they set the prices for the menu. You probably should have complained to the manager of Ralph's. The waiter certainly shouldn't have argued with you.
