My all time favorite is Armand's, but a word of warning if you go on
Friday's during Lent, the wait is very, very long and I've also seen
them run out because there is so many people, the fish sandwiches are
absolutely the best in the burg.

If you ever get to Coraopolis, eat the fish sandwich at Segneri's (on 4th or 5th avenue, I think!) It is great! They also have really good Italian food.

Armstrong's at the Galleria (South Hills). Be prepared to wait an
amazingly long time for a table. We call 20 minutes ahead of time and
 get take-out.

Jimmy's Post Tavern, on Smithfield Street
(Downtown between 1st Ave and Blvd of Allies)
advertises "Best Fish Sandwich in Pittsburgh".

We tried it last Monday, and it was very good indeed.

I've tried all the fish sandwiches mentioned except Armand's and by far the
best I've had is at Roland's in the strip.

Fish sandwich at Pasta Too on Rt. 88... keep one huge piece on your
hoagie sized bun & eat the other with your fork (or fingers).

Primanti's ain't bad either, but I like Pasta Too's better.

Shhh, that's supposed to be a secret. Mrs. Segneri cooks all pasta to
order, so don't go there in a big hurry. The spaghetti is better than
the fish, but they're both great.

If you don't mind the neighborhood bar atmosphere, Stumpf's Bar in West Mifflin
has fresh fish and homemade Haluski on Fridays. Thought the fish is better on
Thursdays. That's when the debone & bread it.

It depends where you are from. In Pittsburgh most fish sandwiches are cod
and fried. Maybe I am a purist burgher, but I still like the Oyster house
 in Market square.
