I recommend South West Bistro on 6th St. They will put your
beer/wine/etc in the cooler and bring you out more whenever you need it.
Plus, I find the food there not only very unusual but outstanding.

Try Darbar, they have wonderful food, (indian) and you can bring your
own beverages. Darbar, one of my favorite yummy food places, is on the
corner of craig and center, up a couple of doors actually, up the hill.

Try their sweet nan, it's so great with vino!

Try Armstrong's in the plaza at the corner of Thorn Run Extension and
Beaver Grade Rd. in Moon Twp. (yes, it is owned by the same folks as
the one in the Galleria). The food is good (lots of Italian and
seafood among other fare) and moderately priced. They don't have a
liquor license so they gladly accomodate those who bring their own. My
friends and I bring bottles of wine and/or coolers stocked with beer
there regularly. Here's one thing to keep in mind, however. They don't
accept credit cards. I'd hate to see someone find that out the hard
way at the end of their meal :-) You can call them at 1(412)262-9355
if you need directions or have any other questions.

Portobello on Mt. Washington (no view, its on the behind side).
Mostly pasta (but with interesting toppings), some chicken, veal etc.
Family owned & operated, a great stuffed portobello appetizer.

 Thanks for all the suggestions!

We went to the Southwest Bistro, on 6th street. We made reservations for 7:45,
and showed up on time. I guess that's a little early for that place, because
it was obvious they were still setting up. The service was prompt and friendly,
though. The decor was fairly simple- formica tables, straight-backed chairs,
 etc.

The food was quite excellent- I had the chipotle with lamb sausage, and some
chicken quesadillas. My friend had the lamb sausage appetizer, and a special
of the evening- stuffed quail, both of which were also excellent.

All in all, an enjoyable experience. I'd be happy to go there after a
performance at Heinz Hall or the Fulton, though I suspect that reservations
would be in order, considering the relative sizes of the crowd getting out
of such a show, and the restaurant :-).

I'll post reviews as I try the other places, too!
